I think it would be an original Vauxhall-Opel colour of that time. Had a MK1 Cavalier in the same red. Colin might know?

I have a magazine somewhere that has the ascona he rallied in 2010 and it has GM logos on it. Seems to be the same colour but hard to tell from that video

Looking at the Marlboro sticker, the car appears lighter/brighter. Almost a Mr Hobby H23 Shine Red.

mal i googled the mr hobby red there...seems a bit light compared to car..... the pic i have plus the model of collins manta both are almost like a burgundy/wine kinda colour......

Carmine Red was a the name of the colour on the older Vauxhall/Opel's back then,
I think the code is 76L or 535.... painted a lot of Astra's and Nova's over the years lol

That colour came out in '83/'84 for the Nova,Astra,Cavalier....
I'll check the computer in work tomorrow and see if I can find the red used before this Carmine red,
The older red was a bit darker and used on the MKl Cavalier,Chevette, it ran from the late '70's to '83/'84

Only know that it was prepared by Collins Cars so not actually Phil Collins own but on built by them.
