Car Body Filler Empty Car Body Filler

Post  brian Sun Nov 09, 2014 2:01 pm

Ive been thinking about using car body filler instead of milliput for a project but as ive never used it before, how does it stack up against Milliput.

Im mainly looking at its fast drying time as Id like to be able to do all the work in one day. The project will require lots of shaping and sanding as well as more filler/milliput being added. Ill also have to remove the item from the model to be cast in resin. Ive heard a release agent will work on milliput but would it also work on filler

Anyone any thoughts on how they stack up against each other

As if by magic he returns lol

Brian I would use U-Pol Easy Smooth 7 as it's easy to sand and would be quicker,
The only down side is that body filler can end up with pin holes in it after it's been rubbed,
I would prime the repair let it dry then pick in the holes with 3M Stoppers, rub the stoppers then prime it again,

Overall it would speed things up as you can do the repair, prime, stopper and re-prime all in 1 day,
If you are going to cast in resin then as long as the filler is covered with primer it will work
