Just caught up with this on Motors TV. I thought Simon Mauger's Millington-engined 6R4 (or 4M4 as they're calling it) looked fantastic. Great to see it being so competitive against the WRC machinery too. Mind, I think the driver's got a lot to do with it :-)

Dennis Marshall has built the 4M4 in line with permission from the MSA. the engine he has in is a DS2+ Millington and yes it dosn't sound like a Metro with different exhaust note and style but Dennis wanted to have an iconic shape with newer engine and gearbox and keeping the 6R4 shape, diffs, shafts etc.

It is rapid as people like Simon Mauger and John Indri who has tested it have said its one rapid machine.

A second car is now ready to hire and a third under build.

It sounds a great like a great idea, running an iconic car with modern engines, but its not a million miles away from Andy Burtons 306 which the MSA banned. If I had the money I dont think it would be wise to invest it in this kind of project given how fickle the MSA are about non homodified cars. How do you decide on which cars can run and which cant
