2017 World Rallycross

Post  CDM on Sun Nov 27, 2016 3:44 pm

Well if you have been watching the Abu Dhabi GP today you will know that Nico won the chasmpionship, but that also it was Jenson Button's last GP. In a post race interview he indicated that he will be rallycrossing next year - at world level I guess.

Dont forget his father John used to rallycross a very quick Beetle years ago.

Possibly Global RX the American car park version? Honda run a pair of Civics in that championship and there are a few ex rally men and Piquet Jr already doing the series so could be a shoe-in..

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you are right Sal, world rallycross straight off, the American version would be a fine stepping stone. Button is an incredibly marketable guy and Honda would be mad not to have him with them if they could.

I'd like to see that - there was a short film earlier this year of Button and Coultard in a 600bhp rallycross beetle and he looked like he was having a blast!
