Re: Rally Teams Workshops
Never thought I'd see a photo of a Cortina Mark 5 rallying! And the Belga livery looks excellent on it too! Extraordinary!
Thanks for posting - always an intersting thread, this one!
Cheers, Steve

A friend of mine has a Cortina that he used to rally with a V8 in it. Bit of a beast.

Re: Rally Teams Workshops
Would that have been a Rover V8, Chris, or was it something from across the Atlantic? Yes, I know the Rover was an aluminium (or 'Aluminum' according to our American friends) version of a block that originated from Buick, but you know what I mean!
A beast? I can well believe it! Probably as much of a handfull as the V8 powered Marinas used in rallying and even rallycross! Lots of power and a simple chassis and suspension set up...... what could go wrong?
Cheers, Steve

I did a bit of reading on cortina mk4/5 rally cars. A number of south african v8 engined cars were rallied - they were called xr8's in SA

Yes Steve it was and still is a Rover V8. He still has it tucked away in his work shop.
