HRCR OPen Day January 13th 2018

HRCR Open Day at the British Motor Museum Gaydon 13th January 2018 10.00am – 3.00pm

The Historic Rally Car Register (HRCR) open day is the now traditional opening event of the year for the historic rallying community. This free to attend event brings together all forms of the sport including Historic Road and Stage Rallying, Historic Endurance Rallying, Speed Events for historic vehicles and Scenic Tours.

The theme for the 2018 HRCR Open Day will be the MG Metro 6R4. Developed for Austin Rover by Williams Grand Prix Engineering it is one of the most spectacular MG cars ever produced. They are planning to have a display of Metro 6R4 Rally Cars that were campaigned in the 1980’s along with some of the remaining road going clubman spec cars.

I understand that the ‘Film’ car from the Winning Streak will be on display. This is a standard road car dressed up to look like the rally car and used for internal film shots.

I will be there selling rally models and rally books, whilst our two 6R4s experts Dave S and Dave C will be presenting a display of 6R4 models. Come along and say hello.

Entry to the HRCR Open Day is FREE, with a £9 entry to the main Heritage Collection

A great display

I know the time and effort that goes into staging displays. Well done on a well presented and interesting display.

Yes a very big thank you to Dave S and Dave C for putting on this fantastic MG Metro 6R4 display.

It took the pressure off me to just concentrate on selling and not trying to display models as well.

In all the years I have done this show this year was by far the busiest and best one I have attended.
