Mercedes Benz & Porsche Museums Stuttgart 2018
Every year after visiting Paris Retromobile we take ourselves off to a few museums. This year it was a long trip to Stuttgart.
Mercedes Benz museum building is amazing In its own right. You work down from the top in a spiral going through the various decades of Mercedes Benz. The quality of the cars was stunning, no over-crowding far from it, trucks, buses, cars, & race cars near the end of the tour. We all know MB race history and they were all lined up on the banking. Only two rally cars a 450SLC from the Ivory Coast Rally and the 280D?? from the Singapore Airlines London Sydney.

The Porsche Museum is 5 miles up the road and is equally as minimalist all white inside and you can walk around most cars, no posts & ropes. Again beautifully presented they have 500 cars in the collection, probably less than 100 on show. More rally cars here and a lot of well=known Le Mans cars

Apparently the 956 created so much downforce it was calculated that it could run upside down on the ceiling!!!

If you ever find yourself in this part of Germany take the trouble & time. Less than 10 euros to get in each.
After these we moved onto two more museum. Of which more later. If we thought Mercedes and Porsche were brilliant these next two were quite unbelievable!!
