I've a wee plan to do an Irish Ascona for my self.... well Irish event and a Scottish driver
The decals are 75% complete and if they turn out well then I may do a small run of built models,
Trying to get base models at the right price will be tricky so it will be limited to the amount of base models I can get,
Oh and you'll be glad to know Billy it's going to be 1/18!!
If anyone else is doing Irish Ascona's in 1/43 or 1/18 keep me in mind
.
me too

Good thing you mentioned the pop star bit because some daft joke would have been in the air tonight.

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
Sorry to hear that Steve - you must be gutted!
Is there really no other alternative, even splitting the 40 models into two separate Code 3s in two batches of 20 perhaps? I know I'm new to the game, and still a bit of a 'newbie' but it would seem easier to sell two different lots of 20 models, than one lot of 40 of the same model? Just a thought...
What's happened with the decals you were waiting for?

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
It has taken all the excitement out of it now seeing someone have a pic of the actual model done
I hope the decals can be cancelled I have emailed the company

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
I'm sorry then if the fact that I reposted the photo of Ted's one-off personal model has caused you to cancel the run of models, Steve! That was not my intention whatsoever, and if I'd have ever thought that it would have caused you such grief, then I would not have done it! I only posted it as a reminder to Billy for his 1/18th scale version.
All I can do is to apologise.

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
steve, i genuinely hope that my interest in a 1:18 version of this hasn't caused you this grief! obviously i was never going to buy a 1:43, they're not my thing as you prob know, but in simply asking for suggestions of what to do with a spare sunstar base, i've received several suggestions....its down the line a good bit, and was only me asking for inspiration...
were you having difficulty taking orders for your 1:43 version already m8?

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
i've just realised that the fact that you have put these for sale in my ascona thread instead of the 'for sale' thread would suggest you do connect the two steve.......... i can only say sorry m8, but i doubt that my interest in a one-off 1:18 version could in any way influence the sale of 40 1:43 versions by a well-recognised builder like yourself..... surely no-one who had looking forward to your build would be put off by a pic, would that not increase the chances of sales, rather than damage them?

Re: Irish Ascona 400...............suggestions?
The main fact behind this is my models are not selling at mo so I have decided to take a step back and take a look at all unfinished work
The Greer ascona is being done by someone else and that is good
There is no bad feeling from me
Now I just have to make sure I can sell the 40 white asconas I have here
