I'm working on the decals for that model as well as the Toivonen Ascona,
McRae's will need a dash conversion but it's a flat dash so shouldn't be too hard to do,
The only decal I'm stuck on is removing the Mobil on the quarter panel to replace it with a Shell decal,

Daft question, but was Jimmys car definitely right hand drive? I know he switched to the works team after winning the BRC in 81, but as his 82 car carried german plates, i just wondered if that might not have been left hand drive?

Fyi, Ixo are releasing his 81 RAC Ascona this year - i plan to change that to a version from the 81 BRC when it comes out

I got the Mobil decal off the quarter panel so I'm left with a big white square now,
It will have to be a blue square with Shell Oil on it, if it's printed on to clear decal paper then the white from the car will show through.... all being well Wink

yep, sound like a plan m8...slightly off-topic but related, i've found over the last wee while a difference in effectiveness of using different white decal papesr to create white lettering......the sheets i usually get from les on ebay are def not as bright a white and you have to double them up i've found.....i bought some sheets from crafty computer.com (they're A4 size unlike les's ) and they seem a it brighter a white.....just thought this might help m8....
i think i'm right in thinking there's not much more to do to the rohrl model than the reg-plates, names, rally plates and these shell decals m8?

Yeah Billy that's most of what needs done,
The other decals to do are the GM,Opel,Vauxhal motif on the lower part of the front bumper, same as the Manta,
I'll work away on getting the Shell Oil sorted then these lower front bumper decals, after that it's just the driver/Nav names,
Once the decals are all done it would only be a matter of changing the Number & driver/Nav names to do the Toivonen car,
