I'm working out at the moment whether I can get to Croft myself for one or both days.   Wish me luck with my domestic negotiations!!!!   Added bonus if you're there!!

I received an email from Shirley Gibson (wife of rallycross legend Rob, and the leading ight and motivation behind the Retro Rallycross scene in the UK) and she has confirmed that the Retro boys will be racing on Sunday only though will be there (demonstrating?) on Saturday.  They even have some folks off the telly taking part, which probably means people I've never seen as I don't watch much telly!  

All sounds superb, though.  Anyone else from here planning on getting to Croft?  I'm so hoping to get there for both days!  Wish me luck with my domestic negotiations!

Shame I cannot get to Croft for this one, but I already have something else planned for that weekend!  

You might like to edit the dates though Mark, as the Saturday / Sunday are the 19th / 20th.  I'd hate for you to miss out on any potential trade because you don't go on the Saturday, but do go on the Monday when everyone's disappeared!  

Currently toying with the idea of going up for the British round on the Saturday and then Otterburn on the Sunday. From memory most of the GP crews run on the Saturday anyway so should get to see most of the cars. Ticket prices are really reasonable as well..

It's looking very likely that I'll be there for both days!   Yeay!  

Should know for certain in the next couple of days.

Have managed to get a pass for both Saturday and Sunday. My Dad and I will travel up early on Saturday morning, stay over in a nearby hotel and come home Suday night!

I'm leaving early tomorrow morning (6am!)   so have got your message. I'll send you a PM with my moble number so give me a call or send a text when you're there on Sunday and we'll meet up!  

Looking forward to it. I've even finished off a Malcolm Wilson Computervision 6R4 from the 1985 RAC Rally as this was the car that Rob bought. I'll be giving Rob and Shirley the car as a present over the weekend. Rob doesn't know about it yet, though!!   Keep it schtum!  

I'm also bringing with me the Lawrence Gibson rallycross 6R4 and the Jan Arthur Iversen ice racing Metro 6R4 for them to see as I've finished both in the past 2-3 weeks.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Steve, but is was actually C868 EUD that Rob acquired - the ex-Wilson 86 Monte Carlo / 86 Portugal and ex-Duez 86 1000 Lakes / 86 RAC Rally car - sorry mate!  

  Ooooer! Blast!! Haven't got time this evening to rectify that before I leave in the morning!

I guess the best I can do is show him what I've done so far and keep hold of it and rectify my mistake before next season starts!

I think Duez was closer to the Italian lakes on his first WRC event with 868.

A minor oversight  but Juha is indeed quite correct - Marc Duez debuted C868 EUD on the 1986 Sanremo Rally, and NOT the 1986 1000 Lakes Rally as I stated!  Marc didn't even appear in Finland....

...but '868' did in the hands of Malcolm Wilson as his pre-event practice car!  

Would that explain why Malcolm had a Belga sticker on his windscreen after he rolled it?

Hi Guys,

Arrived home late last night after a truly awesome weekend of rallycross fun and frolics.  

I haven't time right now to give a run down on who did what and how but I did get opportunity to show Rob the model I'd made for him and he confirmed that it's the wrong one! Doh!

I've got time over the closed season to rectify my mistake and give him the model in April for the first round of the 2014 season!
