indeed they were....brings back memories of my coming across rtc many years ago where the driver went through fencing after hitting standing water, he ended up impaled by a post/rail through the chest, through the passenger seat and down to floor...sadly was nothing i could do for him....but hopefully he didnt know much about it... these guys as you say chris were a few inches away from a more serious situation...
