STUNNING Nesbitt 1992 Donegal, & Donaldson 1986 Ypres 6R4s - open versions!
Those of you not on Facebook might not have seen this stunning open version of Noel's - Andrew Nesbitt / Brian Murphy : 1992 Donegal International Rally MG Metro 6R4 that has been built by 'our' Belgian friend Olivier Carpentier!
I'm sure he used a couple of Altaya 6R4s to make this model, and the detail is excellent...

Olivier is not a member of this forum as far as I know, and I am sure he won't mind me posting the photos here.
I've also had a private viewing of what he has on his model bench next, and I guarantee that you will all be highly impressed!

Agree totally mate - nice to look at something completely different, where the model maker has used his imagination, and his seemingly extensive modelling skills!

As I said to you earlier David it is a great build
And even if he used 3 models its still a work of art.

For a 1/43 that is simply stunning. Didn't think it was possible to improve on Noel's model.

Indeed you did Noel, and indeed it is most definitely a 'work of art'.143models.com wrote:As I said to you earlier David it is a great build

I not speak English sorry(I use google translation)therefore difficult to post excuse me

Do not worry Olivier because I also use Google translator for French, Italian, Spanish, Norwegian, and all of the other languages! If you feel happier, then just post in French, and I will use the Google translator over here.

That's a superb model, Oli, congratulations!
I'm totally delighted with my original example of Noel's handiwork and am now having trouble fitting my collection into two (large) wall cabinets with all the doors closed, so extending the collection into open models like this isn't going to happen for me.
However, I can appreciate what Oli has created and admire his workmanship and skill. Bravo!

Olivier emailed me the following photos of his next open MG Metro 6R4 model, and asked me to post them on the forum om his behalf. This is the model that is going to be the Ian Donaldson / Richard Taylor : 1986 24 Hours Ypres Rally entry that Mark mentioned - enjoy!...

See, I was right - I said you'd be impressed!Cowley wrote:I've also had a private viewing of what he has on his model bench next, and I guarantee that you will all be highly impressed!![]()

Each model certainly uses parts from more than ONE ACTUAL 6R4 model - but they are both a top quality job, and there is no doubt about that!
Very clever how he has used the suspension turrets from the back, and added them in the front, along with the battery, spare, and other detail.

You know when a track jumps into your head, and no matter what you think about, you can't get rid of it?
Well I can't get rid of that track by Aloe Blacc from a couple of years ago...
"I need a Dremel Dremel, a Dremel is what I need...
Hey Hey!
Well I need a Dremel Dremel, a Dremel is what I need...
Hey Hey!
And I said I need Dremel Dremel, a Dremel is what I need...
And if I share with you my models would you share your Dremel with me..."
I'm going to have to have me some of that open 6R4 model stuff in my cabinet!

Its is very hard work to get that right cutting diecast parts off like that as it could include using a lot of discs for cutting as i am finding out.
I am suprised you havent told him to change the cage David as the detail is mint on this

I had spotted that and was going to zoom over to Google translate, and send him a message about the cage - but I got distracted with another email lol.
