Corolla WRC

As I have said on here and in the other forum my wishlist is comprehensive but I am making inroads into it. One car I have wished to get done for some time now is the ex Irish Forestry Champion John McCarthy's Corolla WRC. I did one rally with John in it - Carlow 2004. As some of you will know John had a serious accident and his days as a rallydriver are now behind him. I have managed to get the signwriters file for the decals layout. I am however looking for a clear shot of the rallyplate from Carlow 2004 if anyone has one. It does not have to be his car #8, any plate will do once its a clear photo. I propose asking Janos in Hungary to do the models. The reason I mention it on here is that there will not be a "run" of models for sale. However if anyone wants one then pm me within the next week. Janos does not do decals for sale.

I think I would have a door plate James.

Would your man from Poland not be a better bet to do this one as he is into his corollas and
everybody would get a set of decals that wanted them.

Tell me more - I have had no dealings with the man from Poland. Once the model gets done without costing an arm and a leg I am open to any or all suggestions.

If any of the modelbuilders on here want to do it please let me know. Its just that I suspect the market will be very very small. Now that I have got the file I just want to press on with it as I had promised his son and his chief mechanic that I would get the model done.

Thanks Noel. I have sent him a query. I assume that he just produces the decals, in which case i may be in the market for some rhd corolla wrc's. I see that he also did a Colin McRae Sierra- I have also asked him about doing the Raymond Monaghan variation on that from Donegal.

James did you sat in that car in Carlow 2004?

You could well be right or is that left. All I remember was that the suspension was rock hard and it wanted to jump off the road at every opportunity.

Was Paul. John had a very serious rally accident. If only Hans and winged seats were in force back then.
