Rallymodels 1985 Press Launch Metro 6R4

Well, according to the envelope the decals were sent in, I've had these for three years and two months! I have now, near-enough completed converting an Altaya Computervision 6R4 into it's form at Knebworth House when the final version of the 6R4 was launched onto the unsuspecting world.

I've dug out the glossy 6R4 brochure with exploded diagrams and specification information that was sent to me at the time (it's still in the Austin Roaver branded envelope too) and used this and the phtots Andy sent me at the time to position the decals just right.

Andy, thank you for the decals, they are excellent. It makes such a difference to the car having Computervision written in white across the blue door tops. I used some white decals to 'paint' the door bottoms white, the door pods and the CV logo on the bonnet (after removing the rally plates from the donor car) and I'm very pleased with the result.

Just need to wait for some paint to dry overnight, put the rear number plate decal on and number 8 of 50 will be complete. Sorry, can't post the photos up yet..... must get around to putting them on a photo hosting site and then onto the forum!

Also, the launch car had blue wiper arms! Oh boy, listen to us! Pass the anoraks!!

Zeus, you're car is missing the black seal along the top of the rear wing and door pod. This is part of the decal set, but dead easy to make up with clear decal paper and a black line of correct thickness! Let me know if you need some decals.

Thanks for the heads up, David, it's another set of decals I won't be making up, then!! I hadn't found a clear, side-on image of the side stripes of B196 although the car does feature in the 6R4 brochure I've got. I noticed the door mirrors are correct - nice touch. Not the standard fair that comes with the base model!
