right please don't shoot me here lads, but i've been reading all these posts re decals and who's entitled to do what with whose decals, etc.....can i ask, genuinely and not wanting to annoy/offend anybody, how many of the regular decallers (?) and/or builders on here do this as their full-time job/source of income??
i'm ignoring those of us who do this as a hobby and dont produce runs of decals or models, and whose product is more amateurish than professional, and i understand if some are reluctant to say your names, as this is an open forum, but wondered if there are more than a handful who rely on producing code3 decals/models for their bread and butter?
i presume there are some? Embarassed

Billy I do not know about the decal suppliers but to be honest I don't think there is any model bulider that depends on it solely. Could be wrong but would take a bet on it anyway lol

Doubt any builders would use model building as their sole income. Theres to much involved with doing a run of models to make any sort of profit from, certainly not enough to live off.

thanks guys for the replies.........i'm not trying to catch anyone out here (i'm not a vat-man lol) just asking in the context over recent debates/arguments/opinions/claims etc re decals and builders....... and who has 'copyright' on what.......... its interesting anyway, as one who isnt involved in doing runs of decals or models, to read such strong opinions on these things.........
as ever, no offence intended to anyone on here......... Smile

I do it for income-there have been times when it has made the difference if I can pay my mortgage or not. I do it in fits and starts and have to be in the mood for it. On some levels I would like to do it as a proper business and on other levels its a very small market. Ask me in ten years time. The difficulty is the time some of them take versus the margin you are going to make. The Ari Donegal Escorts took an average of two hours sometimes three if things did not go well and the margin I had on those was not that high in the end.

Part of the reason now why I don't do as much. If it came to it and my mortgage was a prob to pay I would do it more
