New stuff is pure crap
Pop down to your local Car components shop
Get yourself a gallon of paint thinners
Get a jam jar big enough for the model.
Thinners is about £10 with me so cheaper than any stripper (most strippers)
Keep it away from any flames mind or I will hear the bang over here
Re: Nitromors
Cheers Noel, that's great , being a bit accident prone I'll do it outside .

Re: Nitromors
.
The new stuff is dichloromethane free to keep the VOC levels down,
If you were to buy some dichloromethane and add it to the new stuff you would end up with the equivalent of the old stronger stuff,
I'm not sure what ratio the mix would be so it would be a bit of trial and error until you got a good strong stripper again,
Here's a link to some of that dichloromethane,
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/140574254717?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla&crdt=0
As long as you are not going to sell the stuff you have mixed then you haven't broke any laws
Or as Noel has said use cellulose thinners,
It works just the same so remember to remove all plastic parts and it's cheaper,

Re: Nitromors
Dont forget to wash off under the tap with cold water and a tooth brush. hot water gives off a vapour that can hurt ya eyes and if inhaled its not nice.

Re: Nitromors
Bob, I use a item called POR 15 ,Ebay sell this , This stuff is lethal, will strip a car in about time it takes to boil a kettle
£30 odd for a gallon
You only need to brush it on lightly , and it is plastic container safe
small plastic container with a nice brush and Bob is your uncle
pardon the pun

Re: Nitromors
Hi Alan, that stuff sounds far to dangerous for me to use , I have been lucky enough to get a tin of the old nitromors from our ironmongers in Swanage , It does look a bit dodgy but I'll give it a go. Appreciate all the help from you guys . Bob.

Re: Nitromors
No plastic no.
All I do is glass jar
pour some so it covers the roof then shout the top and hand on each end of the jar turn the jar around and then stand and leave a bit the take the model out and wrap in 3 sheets of kitchen roll if you are stripping in the garage or shed then take to the sink and run cold water over it first then most off hold ya model with a pair of pliers and cold water and brush all the nooks n crannies with a tooth brush (please don't brush ya teeth afterwards lol) I bought one just to do this work .
wash off again then wrap in more kitchen roll and dry or if warm day leave it to dry and nice stripped shell
Oh and you can use as many times you want till you need to put more in the jar
