Re: Opel Manta 400
For my money that Airikkala Manta is a handsome car and it beats me why it has never been done by specialist modelmakers. Corgi did the kids version years ago.

It's like the forgotten Son of the Manta's James. I have a mint Corgi one, but I won't shout that from the roof tops. A Schuco quality one would be amazing, and I do really hope you have the contacts to make this one so. I may go and get my base model ready now LOL!
All the best, Gary

James there's a few pics of Rory Galligan & the Gary Jennings 106's on Roy Demp's site, you could try asking if he has anymore,
Rory Galligan 1999 Ulster car would be the better looking one to do,

I have been squirriling away various logos over the years and have the Telecom stuff on Penttis Manta-the Telecom logo and the script.
Rory as it stands there is no one definite. I have spoken to one or two who would have a client base outside this forum which when added to interest here might make them possible. If all else fails I have a fallback builder who will do a specific number. If it comes to that i will put the agreed price up here and those still interested can then make up their minds.
If you will build the models in the near future you can either pm me or set out your stall here. If you are offering the logos etc I will accept them with open arms.
There has recently been a mad scramble to do the latest cars- an old dinosaur like me is reliving his youth through model cars and I believe that end of the market is being neglected. Hence I have taken the bull by the horns so to speak. I have been told over a number of years now that such and such is doing one model or other and have waited. I am in contact with some of those builders and there are good and sound reasons for delays and I stayed away from getting those models done. I am now picking off some of the other "low hanging fruit". The peugeots will be done by Startup but I am currently (very)short of Peugeot photos so any help be it with contacts or photos would be much appreciated.
I too am a bit of a old dinosaur and traditional when it comes to rally cars. Not really interested in the modern stuff at all. As always there is so many to do. Time combined with motivation is sporadic with me. The curreten Nitromors is shite as well-its taken me over a week to strip 3 Sunstar Escorts. The idea of spending a few weeks stripping Manta shells to bare metal holds little appeal.

Its sobering to realise how much of a dinosaur one is when one has to explain the appeal of Connie Smith on the forum. Its also a little surprising that there has been just a single expression of interest in the Galligan car. The good news is that I think I have found a source of photos for the Galligan Peugeot.

James did you see my post on the other page?
Yer man Demptster has a few photo's on his site, if the Galligan 106 was to be his white (gold front decals) car from the Ulster I'd take one,
Unfortunately I didn't get to see WRI out on the stages when Connie had it but I did enjoy seeing it on RPM on Thursday nights,
He was some pilot and always the entertainer definitely an iconic car from back then just a pity there's not too many videos on youtube of it!!
