are there any other reasons to visit Hamburg? I had hoped to tie a visit here into my trip to Rally Germany last year but it didnt work out.

It depends on what you're interested in. Hamburg is a very nice city, especially the "Speicherstadt" that's where the little train is, the harbour, big harbourand a few historical buildings. In the harbour you can also visit a submarine. For wifes, there are a lot, really a lot of shops. The zoo is also fantastic, I was there for 4 days, that's enough.
I forgot sth, the difference between the place where the rally is and Hamburg is near by 600 km.

Jeez that's some piece of workmanship. Can't see a bit of closed road or forestry for a stage, though!
