.... My go is over

I've been putting this off for well over 6 months now but I've finally decided to stop painting or building models,
It's getting harder for me to find the time to build models for the cabinet or paint stuff for others and I've ended up loosing interest,
My 9to5 job is painting 1/1 scale cars and it just seems that the paint gun is never out of my hand, I've tried taking a break but still no joy,
I apologise for not finishing projects that you have sent me and I'll spend this weekend going through all the boxes of stuff I have here and pack up models for anybody who has sent me stuff to do,

I've also a few changes to make this year and my money will be going in a different direction so I'll not be collecting anymore models,
My collection will be up for sale as well but it will take me about a month to go through every thing and sort out the boxes,
I've a load of decals here with base models that I was going to build up and sell on along with my collection but I may end up just selling them off as they are,
When I have sorted out the boxes and made a list of what I have here I'll put the list on here for a week then FB & ebay the rest,

jus want to say a personal thanks for ALL (and by feck theres been many  ) base models sprayed for me in the past. will catch up with ya tis weekend.

Best of luck with whatever you plan to do colin. Im happy to say i have a few models I bought from Paul that you painted and they are outstanding. Your paintwork skills are the best out there, better than terry bartons work in my opinion.

I know you've been thinking about it for a while, but maybe hold off selling your models for now. Take a clean break from modeling and see if the bug bites back in a few weeks/months.

Sorry to hear this Colin    I do regard you as one of the best painters i've come across in along time. I know what its like cus my brother in law in a sprayer and it does get a chore after a while especially when your doing it at home as well. Good luck in whatever your future plans are and don't be a stranger.

Ah no, hope the 3 M3's didn't force you in to this decision  

But life is life and you have to do whatever it takes to enjoy it, hope you don't go away from the model scene altogether. Hopefully might catch up with you again the next time I'm in your neck of the woods.

Sorry to hear Colin, you will be missed because you are a very talented man.
Would echo what Brian says, hold onto the models for a few months and see does the interest come back even in just what you have. It would be a shame to be sorry in the future for selling them.

I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words and support over the last few years,
It's been you guys that have pushed me on to building/painting models by showing your builds and giving me hints and tips at the start,
Without you and the forum I wouldn't have gained the knowledge or courage to try my hand at this or tried to improve the quality of each build,
I'm not leaving the forum as I would miss the friendly atmosphere and banter too much!! I'll still be floating about here
I'll be returning all the models that don't belong to me then closing the model room door and not going into it for a few weeks,

Once I've had time to clear my head I'll open the door and begin to pack up all the models ready to sell on, I always said I don't own these models I'm just minding them for the next man,
I've had a few PM's, emails and texts asking me what I'm doing with certain models and that's only natural as I've done the same thing myself lol
There are a few models that I've said I would offer to people a long time ago + some I would offer back to the people I bought them off and I'll stand by this,
I can't offer any models to anyone that has contacted me over the last few days as there has been too many and I don't want to start picking who gets what,
All the models will be listed and posted up on here and first one to shout gets it, that will be a few weeks away yet, may even be March before I get round to it,

Again thanks to everyone for your comments, support and help during my time on here building.... I'm not leaving the forum so this is not good buy

There is very few good paint sprayers around and have to say , the models you done for me previously are top of any standard


Hopefully everything will be sorted for you to start collecting again

Will have to have a rethink on models now as won't be able to get repainted ones as nobody to Colin's standard of painting

ah col, sorry, just found this thread, was away a few days..... total respect for all you've done for me and others on here m8, i don't need to repeat all that's been said above (don't want you getting a big head lol!!)  except to say ' +1' to the sentiments aired....
will be in touch m8 soon enough, but i'm sure others are keeping you busy with pm's, emails, fb etc, so i'll let you get your head showered for a while....

i know its your decision m8, but don't rush into anything, i remember paul saying about his struggle to replace his collection after selling up the first time.....anyway, you're a wise enough oul boy to do the right thing ....
