Ideas wanted Empty Ideas wanted

Post  newt5550 Sun Mar 23, 2014 7:13 pm

I have just recently bought myself a new free standing cabinet. With the base there is 8 shelves to fill which 5 are full of MG's of different types and scale's. Was going to just stick with the MG's but.........................

I Have a wall cabinet mounted in the same room empty. It will hold 35 to 42 1/43 scale models. Do i keep it or do i fill it.

Dilema is what with and what type/sort?

Any sensible ideas  Question

Well we all know what sunstar are like, they really like to milk a model, so there will be loads of 1/18 variations as well as a few code 3s. Keep it for 1/18s

It's not big enough for 1/18's.

All my MG's are in the big one.

I reckon a mix of rallying sports cars would look great. BMW M1, Alpine A110, 911, Stratos, Aston V8, things like that. Damn, now that's got me thinking...

Chris,

You asked for sensible ideas, and for once, I'll be sensible!  scratch  Here goes!

Why not do what I have done and collect yourself some road and track MG models in 1/43?

I've got some superb models of most MG models from the MG ZA and ZB Magnettes, the 1100, Midget, B, BGT, MGB GT V8, Metro 1300, MG RV8, SV8 and even an MG 3SW (the Chinese version of the Rover 25 Streetwise). I even have an MG ZR S2000 rally car.

There will be space for the current and future MG models as they are produced (here's hoping!) in 1/43 scale too. NEO are about to produce a Mk2 MG metro Turbo model, so I'm anticipating making all sorts of racing variations of that. I may even get to build a Mk 3 or 4 Magnette kit, as K&R do these.

You're an MG man, like myself, so you know it makes sense!!!!  cheers

Cheers, Steve

Already doing it Steve. My big free standing cabinet is getting filled up gradually of MG's. 1/43 and 1/18 plus one 1/16  Very Happy

I have an empty wall cabinet that needs something to go in it but only 1/43 scale.

Plus i have another wall cabinet to put up. Where yet i don't know but the wife won't allow it in the bedroom  Embarassed
