Modelmaking at another level entirely!
A couple of months back I stumbled across a French modeller by the name of Stephane Dufrene, and to be honest with you, his models are out of this world in detail, and in the painting techniques that he has perfected over the years - so much so that his 1/43 scale models appear to be much larger in scale due to the detail he has incorporated!
A week or two after my discovery of his work, he started the build of an obsolete 1/43 scale 'Meri' Marc Duez 1986 Boucles de Spa 'Belga' MG Metro 6R4 white metal kit, and this I (and others) were able to follow every detail as he progressed through the build over the subsequent four weeks.
Here are a few photos taken throughtout the build so that you can get an understanding for what he carried out, and also some of the final 'curbside' diorama. Enjoy!...
~ Scratch built interior including all engine framework...
~ Fully opening bodywork based on the white metal Meri kit, but with the resin front end from a Starter kit...
~ Detailed interior, including harnesses, intercom, notes, dashboard, etc...
~ Detailed 3.0 litre Austin Rover V64V International engine...
~ Almost completed chassis, interior, and detailed full suspension...
~ No real caption recquired...
~ And finally, the finished diorama - simply stunning in detail I think you'll agree!...
Here's a few more samples of his exquisite work, including...
~ 1/43 scale 'Bosica' kit of the 1985 San Marino GP Ferrari 156/85...
~ 1/43 scale 'Meri' kit of the 1986 Acropolis Rally Ford RS200...
~ 1/43 scale 'Jemmpy' kit of the 1992 Paris Dakar Mitsubishi Pajero...
Don't forget that these are all 1/43 scale!

He also has a partner and they are professional...
they are not only doing 43 scale but all scales... and not only kits but 100% scratch builds as well.
I have been following these guys for pretty long time now and each of their project is unique....
here is a video of theirs and you can see how they build the scratch 1/12 Bird cage....

besides their skills, the knowledge and the archive is amazing too...
there are several more professional builders out there but so far this ones the best I have seen....

Now that is very impressive, on any scale but especially so in 1/43.
Thanks for sharing, David. Beautiful work, so much thought and skill involved. Wonderful to see.
