Re: 1/18 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
great list and idea here mate
wish there would be any possibility to make this for all rally models in 1/18 scale (I believe 43 would be very difficult due to number of models....)
and with photos available....

I think that's a superb idea, Omer!
I would not want to be criticised for taking credit from someone else's idea and brainwave, so I am more than happy to leave the compiling of such a lengthy list to yourself, or another individual on here!...

Re: 1/18 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
How do Sunstar and Ottos 6R4s compare in quality?

Re: 1/18 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
Sun Star are diecast metal and fully opening, whereas Otto are resin and fully closed. Quality wise, if you can live without the need to open them up, then Otto wins hands down on the quality front, David....
...although choice is much more limited, as you can see above.

Cheers David, I bought the Auriol Otto one, and was rather disgusted when they brought out the more attractive (IMO) Computervision car. I had mean to get a Wilson Sanremo model but kinda forgot...

Re: 1/18 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
Hi david, i agree with david re quality, i know we have previously discussed the merits of opening panels and how we display our models...i have bought several otto models, only had one quality issue, the rear axle of my auriol one being loose, just needs more glue probabaly lol, apart from that and their regular inabilty to make an aerial that actually fits the roof hole tight, theyve all been grand...
sunstar have upped their game in recent years and still provide good value for money, especially if you like to gaze an an engine or the cabin interior, plus theyve changed their thick stubby aerials for much more life-like ones...horses for courses i guess at the end of the day...but both are good for the money, especially otto when buying new and direct from otto...

The list would be vast, however...... for a more manageable size 1/43 list, our very own Douglas Bonser has worked hard to maintain a list of all WRC winning cars with links to all of the manufacturers who have made the model. I've chipped in with Douglas to keep a track of all the releases, including the myriad of partswork versions, but the vast majority of credit goes to Douglas and his super-human efforts to stay on top of this.
Link to Douglas' work attached:

I'd never heard of Andrew Garrod before, thanks to google I found some pictures, does he do them as one offs or to order, and approx. price anyone? The Biggerstaff car looks superb.

He literally builds to order as far as I gather, David - some of which have been ordered by a handful of collectors.David Napier wrote:I'd never heard of Andrew Garrod before, thanks to google I found some pictures, does he do them as one offs or to order, and approx. price anyone? Price wise I think you're looking at around £150 each, which includes the cost of the base model, and all the work involved converting it to your desired version. I have his email address if you want to take your interest any further?
