Re: Mini Cooper advert
Wow! What a simply superb advert, Chris! You would never know this wasn't a period Monte Carlo Rallye film!...
...many thanks for sharing it with us.

Dave
Bill Price put me onto it.
Apparently it was filmed in July 2017, they even took a snow machine up onto the Turini!!
I think he said that the Hopkirk Mini was a replica.
Hey who cares it was brilliantly doner.

Re: Mini Cooper advert
It certainly all looks very convincing - replica snow and 33EJB or not!
Shame it is nothing more than a 'Bini' advert, however!....

Re: Mini Cooper advert
I thought exactly the same, Dave!
It's almost like it's giving you a preview for a much longer film, and definitely left me wanting more!

Like the trailer for Rush. Atleast that led to something
Would make a great film though

Dave
I have checked with Bill P that this is a stand alone advert for BMW Mini Cooper and not a trailer for a bigger film.
It is just that an advert.

Re: Mini Cooper advert
I enjoyed that. Very convincing.... though would never convince me to buy a front wheel drived BMW charicature!
Still winds me up seeing the statement about three-times winner, when we all know the Mini won four times and was excluded by the French for a trumped up headlamp-related infringement. I recall there were other cars excluded that year too - other non-French cars but can't think what they were right now.
Thanks for sharing, Chris. Most enjoyable.
Cheers, Steve

The other car thrown out in 66 was the Ford Cortina of Roger Clark.
Conveniently for the French by throwing out all the British cars a Citroen won!!
Other British cars would have also been thrown out if they had got to Monte Carlo

Welll urmmm dont tell anyone but they do have quartz hologen bulbs in now!!
If you look at old photos of British rally cars on the Monte from the 1950s and 60s you will often see that the drivers were posed standing in front of the headlights. The Lucas lights were changed for better Sev Marchals
