Nuremburg Toy Fair 31/01/18 to 04/02/18

Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since the 2017 edition so what will this year bring? Hopefully some of the models shown and promised last year and an improved presence from the manufacturers we know and maybe a few new ones? 2017 was a bit lacklustre and also 1/18th dominated so a return to previous years would be nice. Will be trawling the net to find pics and news so please feel free to join me!

Totted up how many 1/18th models I had the other day and realised that I'm almost a convert to the "Dark side"!! Latest addition was a Minichamps Rohrl Quattro A2.

Am happy to see rally models in any scale as last year we were very much the poor relations of the GT and sports car fraternity.

Always an exciting time of year. Expecting something good from triple 9, otto and sunstar

1/18 toyota celica ST205
1/18 chevette hsr

Got to factor Ixo into the 1/18th game now and based on the Altaya partwork schedule there's a whole raft of the big stuff in the wings

In 1/18th for me I'd love an RS1700T and a McRae Legacy as well

In 1/43rd an HSR Chevette, Datsun 140J Violet Group 2 and a Pondy SD1 3500 Rover would be most welcome...

I'd be happy if Ixo issue the Belge 6R4

Ixo's presence at the show last year was a joke. There is a raft of models that have been listed for release that have yet to appear or have bitten the dust (Gronholm Portugal Rally Impreza S14 for example) so think you need to double cross your fingers!

Otto and GT sprit are NOT on the the Toyfair this year !

so we must wait and see on FB what they bring news pro month .....

I've actually managed to get a ticket and have flights booked to go over for a day but if Otto etc not exhibiting may cancel.

Belkits have shown artwork for a 2017 Fiesta WRC in 1/24 from Monte Carlo rally.

Andy has been sharing pics on Facebook during the day.

Looking on Diecast International forum there seems to be a lot of race cars, F1 and GT cars mainly and lots of Supercars, not much in the line of Rally cars

I saw the pics of all the empty Ixo cabinets a few days ago and thought to myself, “that must be the guaranteed 2018 deliveries.....”

As you say, Andy has put up updated pics today and looks like for Ixo it is mainly 2017 WRC cars (Fiesta, Yaris, Citroen and Hyundai) rather than any of the unreleased back book.

Im sure i’ve read somewhere it is 1/8th and you build it by subscribing to a periodic magazine where you get bits of it each month

Notice that the Ixo Yaris WRC is still showing as pending licence approval. Tommi and TRG must really be wanting their pound of flesh!
