Dont have one myself. Still waiting on the cost to come down before I look to get one. There are several places that you can submit your 3d drawing and they will print it for you. For what you would be printing, it might work out cheaper

Brian, that begs the question, 'how do you create data for someone to print it off'? I'm aware there are methods to scan items to reproduce them and there are ways top design projects to print them, but all of this seems a dark art to me!
I'd love to go this way in time, when prices have dropped. The thought of printing spoilers, wheels, wheelarches or even whole cars appeals immensely, but haven't got a clue where to start!!
Can't wait to see how this pans out over time!
Cheers, Steve

From the very basic 3d modelling i did in college, you would need to create a wireframe mesh to begin with, then keep working the individual points of the mesh to build up the shape.
For simplier objects like roof scopes etc, you could draw as a 2d object then extrude those points on the z axis to create a 3d model. but again, huge learning curve to this stuff and most of the time it would be quicker to build simple stuff with plasticard
