Nuremberg Toy Fair 2020

Nuremberg Toy Fair 2020 takes place January 29th - Feb 2nd this year. Its always exciting to see what the manufacturers have planned for the year ahead. While sometimes these plans never make it any further, its interesting to see what goes ahead.

Is anyone heading over this year?
Anything you really hope will be announced?

For me, Im really hoping to hear news on a 1/18 Legacy. Would prefer Sunstar as we might see more versions.
Im also thinking a 1/18 St205 Celica from Otto cant be far away. They have already done several of the earlier Celicas so I think they will do this one also

those two, a chevette plus an S14 scooby wrc, need the hatchback to complete my subaru cabinet, i have the space left for it and it needs filled!!

Otto has the base for an S14 Impreza. A Group A 323 Mazda, the 79 monte Gr 2 Fiesta, Grp A Golf GTI, the works Red, Yellow and Blue Sunbeam Lotus, Lancer WRC, Audi Coupe Quattro Grp A from the current crop. Id love to see a Legacy, A Chevette HS/HSR, the MK 2 Escort 79 Monte Carlo wide arch, a 1/12 BMW M3 rally.

In terms of the rally sets Id say we will see a Prodrive VW LT and M3 combo-possibly a Bastos version rather than Rothmans. Also possibly a Talbot Sunbeam and Van. A Bedford CF with a HSR would be amazing!

Otto has not shown at the toy fair for at least one year, perhaps 2

As Otto/GT Spirit now own Solido and there's a strong tie in with Kyosho would expect them to have some presence although last year it was in the corner of someone else's stand. They seem to have moved away from big advance announcements and just do monthly reveals online now. Am hoping they do more rally versions of existing moulds (non Safari Twin Cam Turbo etc) however as they are French a Xsara kit car cant be far away!

Regards all the other manufacturers we are waiting for so much stuff announced in previous years I'm not getting too excited anymore. Minichamps and Autoart will have hundreds of Porsches and other sportscars and Ixo will show very little I suspect. Sunstar are unlikely to have any new moulds as are still releasing Focus WRCs so its something from the left field that will hopefully grab our attention. Spark may have a few interesting bits and bobs however they are very GT/Le Mans focused these days.

Only saving grace for me is that having abandoned 1/43rd for 1/18th there should be at least one model that I will be interested in!

Im hoping for a 1/43 HSR and Spark to release the 1/43 Leone rally cars, and i really wish someone would re-release the Lancia ECV.

Other than that, any new rally casting (not just new liveries) would be good.

I've seen pics of a GT Spirit 1/8 M3 but it's coming in at €750 with a display case!




Looks like IXO doing  1/18 McRae Rothmans Manta 400 from 83 RAC rally-It is RHD! And a BASTOS M3 and a Red, Yellow and Blue Talbot Sunbeam. Possible a 1/18 Transit service badge!

Lots of cars that have been done before and seem to be getting new liveries: Norvev have 2019 versions of the C3 WRC; there's a Group A Lancia Delta from the Safari; the Saab 99 is lovely.
