Martin Holmes RIP

The sport has had a huge loss with Martin's passing.
With him has gone a wealth of knowledge and history.
Even our hobby is indebted to the photos he took over the years.
One of the most unassuming and approachable legends in the sport.
Rest in peace Martin.

Yes indeed we all have his books and have seen all his photographs over many years.

I can recommend his last book written in conjunction with Graham Robson The Great British Rally - a look at the 75 year history of the RAC Rally from the start right up to 2018.

An interesting character but you cant deny his knowledge and work over the years

The World Rallying annuals that he compiled alongside Hugh Bishop and then Maurice Seldens who was the main photographer and his images are still classics today were eagerly anticipated each Christmas by my adolescent self. Before the days of the interweb the images and stats from every ERC rally and many national events were priceless.

A sad loss. RIP
