brian, have we the facility to host/insert videos straight from our own pcs? the way we do with images? sorry if this is dumb question mate...

Unfortunately the inbuilt image hosting software doesnt support videos.
You could host on an external image hosting site and paste the link here. Or you can post on youtube and link here, there is a youtube button.
