Like I said, the reason for opting for a brand that didn't include MG, 6R4, rally, etc means it literally can cover any 1/43rd scale subject - maybe even Mantas if they were thought to be a worthy, and previously unavailable addition to the market! x

Massive lauch on Monday for CODE343. There will be jouralist from BBC Radio DERBY, the Derby Telegraph and as far away as the Mansfield and Ashfield Chad. Rumour has it that all will be revealed at 17.00hrs.

I have clearly filled the once vacant position of CODE343 Marketing Executive - before I even had the need for one! Your market research into local media outlets must also be commended!

I am a little concerned however that you've not thought about Derbyshire Life & Countryside though - CODE343 do have a better class of clientele you know!

Thank you Colin - that really is a very kind thing to say, and it does mean a lot ....it really does.

Without wishing to give my age away, I've been building models for over 35 years! Wow, that is scary....

I started off with military modelling - plastic Airfix or Tamiya tanks, planes, figures, etc and 'back in the day' I usually put them into shows and competitions at the local model group. It wasn't for any big-headed kind of thing, but it always seemed to be the best way to pick up new methods and 'hone' your techniques.

Fellow modelmakers would often come up and comment on a model - usually involving passing on their latest technique, product, method, etc - as a model sat there on display on a desk always seemed to get people talking. Ask Chris D, because I'm sure he gets the exact same reaction whenever he takes the South Hants model group (Sorry Chris, I cannot recall their exact name!) out and displays their models at various shows. It really is the only way to learn - by making plenty of mistakes, and by listening to fellow modelmakers...

...after 35 years of throwing models away, or stripping them to start all over again, and then throwing them away - you do indeed pick up a lot of tricks and techniques along the way. Maybe I'm just throwing away les models these days?

Marketing should really be a 'piece of cake' for me by the way as I work 9-5 for a small studio doing graphic design, artwork, print, etc - so to be fair I'd be a complete tw4t if I couldn't brand something and market it properly wouldn't I?

I really do want to promote CODE343 as a brand in itself, and hence the Facebook page that will keep me going for the moment. A website is indeed planned for the future, which will be useful for anyone not on that popular social media network that we all love and hate in equal measures. Let's just see how these first decals go though, and also how the first actual model release goes, and I'll take it from there. Like all these things, there's no rush...

...far better to take your time and do a proper job - bit like making a model really!
