Mmmmmmmm, lol now you come to mention it Gary! Honestly though, it never even dawned on me until now - but I doubt you cynical lot will believe me lol!gaz_bass wrote:Yeah the E looks like a £ Col - LOL
Thank you mate - I am certainly going to try.gaz_bass wrote:I am sure it will all be quality stuff and worth every penny DC!
Like I said, the reason for opting for a brand that didn't include MG, 6R4, rally, etc means it literally can cover any 1/43rd scale subject - maybe even Mantas if they were thought to be a worthy, and previously unavailable addition to the market! xgaz_bass wrote:Oh and you said the 'M' word hmmmm Manta... CODE343 LATEST NEWS!:
Both of the Sutherland 86 Granite Winner and the Malkin 86 Manx '000' Course Car decals have now been applied to a base white model, checked for size, proportion, shape and colour. A list of comments has now been returned for some adjustments to be made to the decals prior to print. Once the good weather allows some 'indoor time' I will crack on with stripping and repainting the base models in readiness. Further news to follow as and when...

Thank you Billy, that is very kind of you. Not quite sure I know exactly what I've taken on just yet mate, but I'm sure it will soon become apparent!
A tease? Moi?
I am merely attempting to build suspense and excitement prior to the International Media Launch on Monday! lol

I have clearly filled the once vacant position of CODE343 Marketing Executive - before I even had the need for one! Your market research into local media outlets must also be commended!
I am a little concerned however that you've not thought about Derbyshire Life & Countryside though - CODE343 do have a better class of clientele you know!
For your endeavours, I would like to bestow upon you the much coveted CODE343 Revel Gold Enamel No94 Paint Pot Award - for exemplary effort in the face of advertising! I hope you will respect the award and all the responsibilities that it brings with it?

Re: CODE343 forthcoming projects...
Thank you Colin - that really is a very kind thing to say, and it does mean a lot ....it really does.
Without wishing to give my age away, I've been building models for over 35 years! Wow, that is scary....
I started off with military modelling - plastic Airfix or Tamiya tanks, planes, figures, etc and 'back in the day' I usually put them into shows and competitions at the local model group. It wasn't for any big-headed kind of thing, but it always seemed to be the best way to pick up new methods and 'hone' your techniques.
Fellow modelmakers would often come up and comment on a model - usually involving passing on their latest technique, product, method, etc - as a model sat there on display on a desk always seemed to get people talking. Ask Chris D, because I'm sure he gets the exact same reaction whenever he takes the South Hants model group (Sorry Chris, I cannot recall their exact name!) out and displays their models at various shows. It really is the only way to learn - by making plenty of mistakes, and by listening to fellow modelmakers...
...after 35 years of throwing models away, or stripping them to start all over again, and then throwing them away - you do indeed pick up a lot of tricks and techniques along the way. Maybe I'm just throwing away les models these days?
Thank you again Colin.

Re: CODE343 forthcoming projects...
PS, Colin...
Marketing should really be a 'piece of cake' for me by the way as I work 9-5 for a small studio doing graphic design, artwork, print, etc - so to be fair I'd be a complete tw4t if I couldn't brand something and market it properly wouldn't I?
I really do want to promote CODE343 as a brand in itself, and hence the Facebook page that will keep me going for the moment. A website is indeed planned for the future, which will be useful for anyone not on that popular social media network that we all love and hate in equal measures. Let's just see how these first decals go though, and also how the first actual model release goes, and I'll take it from there. Like all these things, there's no rush...
...far better to take your time and do a proper job - bit like making a model really!

CODE343 LATEST NEWS!: Here are all the decals for the first complete model to be released - they have been blurred for obvious reasons!...
CODE343-001 : Alistair Sutherland / Peter Watts 'CBC Motorsport' 1986 Sonat Granite City Rally event winner!
Base models are currently being dismantled, stripped of paint, and prepared for painting prior to decalling and final assembly, in readiness for an expected release date of early 2013. I am still NOT currently interested, or prepared to take any pre-orders, deposits, or start jotting down people's names that express a definite interest. The car in question can be seen below, and further news will follow as and when...
