1/18 Corolla WRC Donnelly Fastnet Rally 2011

Another Donnelly corolla, this time from the fastnet rally 2011. Not as nice a livery as the Circuit of Ireland car but in saying that, the Circuit livery is one of my favorites. As with the last car, this was fully stripped back to metal, resprayed and jawi decals applied. Still need to convert to RHD, but im hoping to make a mould of the dash and just cast a couple as ill need them for other corollas in the future.

This car ran on different wheels for most of the event, but there are pictures showing it on these wheels before the event began so im leaving them on it. Dont even know where to start sourcing the other wheels

Its great that there are more 1/18 guys on here. Really helps get 1/18 decals done when you can get more that 2/3 buyers for them.

Going to have to rig up some boxs for these as they dont have their original boxs. Thinking of using some storage boxs to keep them safe until i get a proper cabinet

one question, do you clear coat the model after you apply the decals?
and does all Jawi decals two layers? first white and top of it the colors?

Fabulous Brian...They look really well together..Well Done.

On 1/18s I dont bother with a clear coat. In that scale, i can normally get a good finish on the model without using a clear coat. On 1/43s i would seal in the decals with a coat of clear as they are normally smaller and might come off. Also as the models are smaller, i can build up the layers of paint as well as 1/18 because I tend to loose detail. I use rattle cans so i guess its a limitation of those.

Not all jawi decals are 2 layer. On white cars theres no need for the white underlayer, except for parts that are not on the white of the base model. I havnt actually done a non white model using jawi decals but i think they all require a white base layer
