Trying to influence the middleground voters is a good idea.... I'm off to search through my M3 photos lol
Thanks for the praise David/Ted tho I'm just formatting all the info for everyone to read.... oh the joy of being a "Caretaker Moderator"

A 100% accurate model complete with a DRM labelled & numbered base would be the best route to take in my mind as well.
You all know what models I collect anyway, and as such I would really only be interested in buying a forum model if it was a Metro 6R4. This isn't blackmail by any means - I am merely stating the facts as I would not wish to add a Subaru, Ford or anything else to my heavily 6R4 biased and blinkered collection. But then I'm sure there are others who would not buy a 6R4 because it's not a Subaru or a Ford.
Or OPEL DC!

Re: DRM Members Model.... Suggestions & Chat Thread
Lads I would be on for Biggerstaff 6r4 but is there a builder who would build 30 plus of the model. I am no builder or know anything about building but it looks to be a difficult enough model to do. As I said it would get my vote ok

Re: DRM Members Model.... Suggestions & Chat Thread
I know what you're saying Jimmy, and I guess whatever model does indeed win the final vote, we may have the exact same problem finding a model builder who is willing to take on the project anyway.
From the Biggerstaff 6R4 point of view, it looks like a 'fairly simple' overall red spray job, with the rest pretty much all being added by decals. Well that's how I envisage it anyway.

Yeah Jimmy it would be a tricky one to build but we will have to see if it comes out on top yet,
I think that there would be more chance of a builder doing a bigger number of a tricky model,
If it was for only 10/15 models then the return/profit may not be enough to cover the time/cost in building it,
Sure have a look in the other thread and get your Top 5 votes in, if you change your mind you have until Wednesday night to edit it

Cheers Paul,
A few things have popped up before on the forum and faded away so I thought I'd push this on and see what the outcome would be,
By this time next week we'll have a model to put forward as the DRM Members Model as see if a builder will take it on,
If it doesn't work out I'll take a 2 week Holiday and as Caretaker hand the mop to someone else to clear up any mess that's left behind

Re: DRM Members Model.... Suggestions & Chat Thread
Glad to hear the good lady is on the mend Paul.
I agree that Steve did express his willingness to take on the Feckin Biggerstaff car, but he also said recently that he was not prepared to build a batch of them, so he must have had the intention to go down the decal only option as you state.
Steve has also just used one of his five votes by selecting the Feckin Biggerstaff 6R4 as possibe DRM Members Model?
Maybe this needs clarifying before the next round of voting?
I'm a confirmed 6R4 nut as you know Paul, but I don't think it's possible for me to gang up on you by myself, so I'll offer up my individual thoughts...mcm motorsport wrote:just a wee heads up but that biggerstaff model is already under way with steve (hampton),he plans to do decals of it so perhaps another 6r4 model could be chosen? just a thought, dont be ganging up on me all you 6r4 nuts!

Hampton Caught wrote:Hi Guys, only just seen this thread (still rehearsing away like mad, ready for the opening night in 2 weeks time! )
For my part, the model would have to be a 1/43 scale 6R4 (naturally) (Denis Biggerstaff or John Price Duckham would be fab!) or Boyd's TR8 sounds a great idea too. Simon is right that I am looking to do a Feckin 6R4 in the very near future, but not 20 or so!
If there was a DRM 'special' based on that car with a base/ plaque or whatever to show it was a limited edition, Forum-only 6R4 model, I'd be very pleased... and would let someone else do the building. No great shakes as I haven't started it myself yet, just been doing the background prep ready to start when the show's over!
Cheers, Steve
