Re: Favorite Privateer cars
Hi Omer,
Great idea for a thread.
Could you mention what makes these liveries appeal to you, perhaps?
I'll have a think about my favourite liveries too and try and find pictures of them and why I like them as well.
Cheers, Steve

Re: Favorite Privateer cars
Hi Steve;
thanks for your interest and quick response.
actually, I don't want to limit any make/model as I would like this thread to be a colourful one with many nice liveries.
and on the other hand, builders may have inspirations from this thread as well. since, I hope everyone can stick a photo of their favourite livery from around the world
by the way, it doesn't have to be WRC, can be S1600, S 2000, Group N etc...
best

Re: Favorite Privateer cars
Hi Omer, Haven't seen that one before.
It's crazy! I like it a lot!
Thanks for posting.
My favourite liveries have got to include the black Silkolene livery of Will Gollop's 6R4 rallycross car and also that of Morten Anderson's 6R4.
No-one else used green, yellow and red so spectacularly, in my opinion. I don't now what he was on when deciding the colour scheme, but it appeals to me. And yes, I'll be making a 1/43 scale version for my collection VERY soon!
Rob Gibson's rallycross 6R4 must be at the top of my list. The yellow is so different from anyone else's and always stands out on the track. Very distinctive!
Here's a link to a shot of me being driven by Rob at Lydden Hill in August 2012.

I agree as well.

I think another rallycross 6R4 I'd add to the thread is the multi-coloured 'Practica Cameras' car run by Steve Palmer in the early 1990s. Very colourful and one of my favourites.

Just watched the 1997 WRC review and I really like Sebastian Lindholms Escort from Finland that year. Can find any pictures online of it though. Anyone able to find one?

Yes thats it. I like that a lot. He had an early group N evo in this livery as well that competed in the BRC, think it was around 96

In 96 it was a different livery Brian:

and it 98 likewise
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
i'm guessing it must have been 97

Re: Favorite Privateer cars
Dear All,
I mentioned in an earlier post that one of my faves is the rallycross 6R4 of Morton Andersen. Well, I have just found some pictures, courtesy of Roy Dempster, of the same colour scheme (and perhaps car?) used in rallies in 1997 by Ray Breen.
I can't get the image to work, but the link to it is here: http://www.roydempster.com/photo.asp?PhotoID=19577&AlbumID=1044&Offset=4&Eventlist=
Enjoy! I know I do!!!!
Cheers, Steve

Re: Favorite Privateer cars
Thanks for posting, Omer. That's the one!
Surely it must be the same car?!
Too much of a coincidence otherwise.
One day I'll get the hang of putting pictures in my posts!
Cheers, Steve
