Looking for Display Box measuring 34cm wide, 13.5cm deep and 33cm high
Hi guys, Im looking for a clear display box measuring 34cm wide, 13.5cm deep and 33cm high. Its quite a large box so may need to be custom made however I hope theres one available to buy.
My dad loved his hurling (being from Kilkenny he had plenty to cheer about) Reason Im looking for one this big is that my dad used make small hurleys for keyrings or to hang in the car that he sold at match's etc. One of his pride and joys was 2 hurleys standing across each other set into a base that measures 13.5cm high. He spent a long time getting this signed by all the Kilkenny team captains who had won All Irelands going back as far as 1958 (I think thats the date it goes back too.) He couldnt go back any further as there were no more surviving captains.
He still had to get the most recent winners signature on it but didnt manage to get it before he died. A former Kilkenny player is organising it to be signed so its up to date. What I want to do is try get a display case to keep this safe so that the sigatures dont fade away and to protect the whole thing.
Has anyone seen one this big, or know of a company that will make a case to specific sizes to fit

Leave it with me Brian for a few days. My mate had some display cases made for his dad so he could display some models of his NSU Quickleys and had them made to a specific size. I will ask him if he still has the guys details who made them.

Brian, try this crowd http://www.mcgregorplastics.ie they can make up almost anything from perspex or plastic. There might not be much on the website so if you are in Dublin some time a visit to their shop might be a good idea

Brian.....that's a super tribute to your Dad..........I have been unfortunate to be working in Kilkenny on the Monday mornings and sometimes on a Sunday evening after Kilkenny had beaten Cork in a few All Irelands........quiet a handful to swallow........luck enough my usual line is " I have never been at a football or Hurling match in my life".....then that look the wind out of their sails
........... .......looking at your measurements perhaps change that to 34x34......then that will be square and look more uniform......and don't make it too close to the size of the display inside.... you might put up a photo on here when the project is complete.

Thanks Donie.
These measurements are the absolute minimum internal measurements that will fit. I was hoping to find some kind of case for a plate or something similar. Its almost square for height and width so a case designed for something circular would be ideal.

Brian, how about something like a Fish Tank or the people that make fish tanks.............there is a company selling tropical and cold water fish in New Ross They may be able to help.............pass Lidl, Garda Station, up the hill pass the hotel on the left and I think the next road to the left.....all up hill and there in the first gate into an Industrial Estate
.......................Just thinking now its inside in the same place as that crowd doing models.......is it MAC Models............I have called there 5 or 6 times and always CLOSED..

This crowd might be worth a call either.
Do you want to keep getting signatures on it or will you be leaving it permanently in the display once these last few are done. If you don't need to take it out again then getting it 3D framed might be an option. There's a crowd here in Carlow, Fine Framers, that can do this. Here's a few pics from their website http://fineframers.com
Oh they can get display mounting done too
