Another model builder enters the Irish market

Looks like someone else thinks that there is money to be made making Irish models. The first offering is the Jimmy McRae COI 1987 winning Sierra. He has a request up on facebook looking for photos of Circuit of Ireland winning cars from 1956 !!!

Irish cars seems to be very popular. Think everyone else has been forgotten

Totally agree. Spark seem to focus on current years Monte Carlo, and IXO seem to have completely switched off amd are just focussing on their magazine affiliate ranges (which are typically just multiple liveries on the same base).

Andy Howdle (Rally models) told me he is working on these; one of them has an Irish theme as well !.

Amazed that it has been till now for the McRae Coi 87 car to be done, cracking looking car and great driver winning a great event.

WTF don't Trofeu model cars like the Lovell machine themselves?! Its not as if they are busy coming up with new mouldings every 5 minutes...

Agreed, I'll be buying those Lovell cars. They also need to get the Gwyndaf Evans car done plus a Phil Collins, James Cullen(same colour) plus Chris Mellors, Austin Mchale, David Llewellin etc etc

Guys I hope no one thinks I'm having a go at the artisan builders like Andy, far from it, they are just filling a glaring chasm in the market whilst Trofeu disappear down the plug hole of Rally Portugal. Its such a shame because they have the moulds to cover most famous British and Irish cars yet they havent even done an Andrews Brookes MK2!

I still have a set of Carlo decals of Lovell. Must get that finished

Not at all. They could do loads in the British Rally legend series.. Mouton, Waldegaard, Wilson, Demuth, Llewellin, Mikkola, Blomqvist and thats just the quattro's
