Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
.
Thanks again Lads
With Brian making up flyers to promote this Forum I thought I'd use my Facebook page as well,
I put these photos on my Facebook page and also posted a link to the Forum to try and get some new members to sign up,
Here's the photos below showing how to strip decals + a tricky dash conversion,
Decal Removal
The decals were removed using sellotape pressed on to the model with a cotton bud,
The tampo was removed using cellulose thinners, the harder bits on the front bumper were touched up,
I also tided up the black round the windows
Dash Conversion
The pod on the dash was cut off then the top of the dash sanded with 240 grade paper,
I then glued the pod on to the right hand side and painted the top of the dash + added a few blobs of paint for a bit of detail
.

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
That's more like it, Billy. Pay attention and stop distracting everyone else in class. You'll have to go to the head teacher if you don't behave!!
Right Colin, that's got Billy sorted out and now back to the lesson....... I've lost my place now!
Yours, writing lines (as usual), Steve

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
.
I've finally made a start on this Chevette kit after having it out of the box about 10 times!!
The shell needed a lot of work to clean it up before I could paint it + the floor pan is scrap,
It's twisted too much to be able to use it so I've had to use a Sunbeam model for parts,
I cut and trimmed the floor pan from the Sunbeam to fit into the Chevette shell so the wheels were center in the arches,
I was also be able to use the interior from the Sunbeam and with a wee bit of trimming I got the cage to fit as the kit didn't come with a cage,
The wheels that came with the kit were not the best looking so I used the wheels off a spare TR7 model I had sitting here,
This worked out well as the rear wheels are wider than the fronts and helps the over all look of this model,
Now that all the parts are trimmed, test fitted and the model is painted I can move on to doing the decals.... at last lol
Here's a few photos of how its looking so far,

Great going, Colin.
I can understand why you changed the wheels over! The TR7 ones are so much better.
An interesting build. Keep us posted.
Cheers, Steve

... better than changing very dirty nappies, eh Billy?
I can remember well the sinking feeling when I'd changed the nappies of one of my two only for them to go purple and push another one out! Agh!
Mind you, I can also remember having to stand in the corner too. Sometimes my wife lets me sit on the sofa, though, so it's not all bad!
Cheers, Steve

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Well after a very long time away from models
I lifted a box of left over base models and decals
out of the roof space and built the following models
over the last 2 months,
Anyone on FB may have seen these already on my page,
I wouldn’t say I’m getting back into building or collecting again
Just working through all the base models and decals I have layin here

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Here’s the latest builds I’ve been working on over the last year or so
All 1/43 except the Fisher MKll Escorts,
The Castrol model was a tricky build as I had to use the “Spanish” decals
The 1/43 models were build using 3D printed wheels and fill the arches a lot better,
Mchale’s Sierra has Metro 6R4 wheels as they were as close as I could get,
Few more to build over the next month so I’ll post up photos when they’re finished
.
