Photo storage???
After my PC crashed big style I have lost all my Photo's including family one's. P*#sed off to say the least.
What is the best site to use to store photo's. Obviously I want to keep them private.
Ideas appreciated.

Re: Photo storage???
Sorry to hear that, a similar thing happened to me a few years ago. Maybe possible to salvage the hard drive?
This is what I do now:
Download my photos to the PC
I then use FreeFileSync to regularly synchronise a temporary backup to a memory stick - this checks for new/updated/modified files and only copies them.
When I get to approx 4gb of data I burn to DVD.
I use the 'american' system for dating my directories as its easier to sort/find what I looking for later i.e. 2017-12-12 Family reunion etc.
I also use an external disk - my filing system is similar i.e. 2017\Disk04\2017-12-12 Family reunion

Re: Photo storage???
I back up every now and then on an external hard drive and store that at my folks' house. Wouldn't want to have a fire or someone nick the laptop and hard drive from the one place and still have lost everything! Off-site storage is a very good idea!
I do like the FreeFileSync idea - only backing up the new files. Must save heaps of time and take the guesswork out of wondering which files to copy. I've been happily dumping all my photos and documents to the external hardrive so have loads and loads of duplicates.
Thanks for raising the issue - but sorry to hear you have lost everything (though definitely worthwhile getting someone to look at the hard drive to see if anything can be rescued before you give up hope!).
Cheers, Steve
