glue in Otto models
guys, for those of you fellow 18'ers who are familiar with converting Otto models, can I ask advice re the rebuilding..the thick chewy glue that otto use is easily removed, but im having diffs with rebuild of an M3..ive tried model glue and then superglue but finding it very difficult especially remounting the flimsy windows...can anyone either recommend an easier to work with glue, or identify a similar one to the one Otto use? i think im looking for a less strong adhesive as Otto do plaster their joint areas with their soft rubbery one...
cheers

They use 2 tyoes of glue, the big chuncks of it is hot glue which you can use when rebuilding. The glue for the windows im not sure what they use. Ive been using a canopy glue for years with no problems, and is quite strong when set.
Quick search on ebay for zap forumula 560 canopy glue will find it

You can also use Testors Clear Parts Cement. I use this on all the 1/43 kits. Works very well and cleans up with water

For windows i swear by Microscale Micro Kristal Klear but supposedly white wood glue does the same job as it sets clear (never used it myself so can’t vouch for if thats true or only applys to specific brands).

Re: glue in Otto models
cheers paul, another one to try... hard plastic windows are not usually a problem but Otto windows are ultra thin flimsy and very bendy, and arent therefore moulded to shape of opening, requiring you to hold them in position til the glue holds...have done a couple before but these latest couple of M3s have been proving themselves rather bothersome lol the first one i tried with my normal glue had a reaction creating tiny web-like effect spreading away from the point of adhesion......ah well ill get there im sure with one of these recommended brands,,thanks m8

Re: glue in Otto models
You can use small bits of masking tape to hold/flex the window in to shape until the glue sets - ive had to do this a few times. Kristal Klear definitely won’t create any crazing or marking on windows - you can peel it off without leaving a mark.
