Another model on the bench at the moment is Berties Rally of the Lakes winner from 1994. This wasnt his last in on the event but was his last in an epic run of 5 in a row. His first was was 1990 M3 already part of my GXI9427 collection. His win in 91 was in the 4x4 Seirra Cosworth and wins in 92 and 93 came in Subaru Legacys (ive got the artwork for his 93 already drawn so role on the 1/18 Legacy, whenever its released)

1/18 Bertie Fisher - Subaru Impreza - Rally of the Lakes 1994 8804540944_06ff001ca4_b

Model will be built using Sunstars model of the Impreza. There are several of this shape on the market at the moment made by Solido and Altaya, but Im not sure on the quality. Sunstars are getting hard to find now whereas the solidos are everywhere.

1/18 Bertie Fisher - Subaru Impreza - Rally of the Lakes 1994 181276

Car will need a full respray to a lighter blue, so will be using Holts paints for this build. Wheels will be ones that I had cast a few years ago from a tarmac 555.

After a full respray, the body sat for a while before applying the decals. Just noticed the colour looks a little darker in the pictures but looks much better in the daylight. I was a little worried about the blue showing through on the white decal but they are pretty good and completely block out the blue background.

Interior has been taken about and resprayed white. Just need to put it all back together. Im waiting until the Brookes Seirra is decaled up and clear coat both at the same time before going any further with this one. Spoiler is just resting on the body for now.

In the meantime, Ive prepared the dash to convert to RHD. More pics on that to follow.
