Re: Rally Teams Workshops
Agreed! I particularly like the Mini, TR7 and 6R4 shots, but then I would, wouldn't I?

Re: Rally Teams Workshops
Very nice, Omer!
I dare say that Ted would like to know where that little treasure trove is! Unless he's been there already, of course!!
Cheers, Steve

You'll have noticed the light pods are recreated in their 'up' position on the Maxdas and going back to the 70s and early 80s, a similar rouse was used by the British Leyland Competitons Department with the TR7 V8 rally cars, using a light pod on the nose of the car.
Talking with Bill Price, Team Manager of the Competitons Department from the laste 60s through the 70s, he confirmed this was doen so that the drivers had a reference point for the front of the car. This was particularly useful when threading the cars through the woods - I'd have thought it better to keep to the tracks around the trees, but hey, that's just me!

I know, from havign owned a TR7 drophead for 18 years myself, that the front of the car was ouot of sight (in EVERY sense!!) and would sometimes pop the lights up when parking, etc. Most of the time, they popped themselves back down again afterwards, too!!
Cheers, Steve

Re: Rally Teams Workshops
Very interesting Steve. I often wondered even with the Toyota Celica as to why they were up. Austin McHale always had his in up position as well. My own opinion before I read your post was that the gear and motors may have being removed.
