Absolute cracker of a model. Are these your own prints?
Have to say, they dont make rally cars like they used to. Would love to see one of these screaming down the stages again.

Thank you to all
Yes, they are my own decals.
You have reason, I wish we could go back to the decade of the 80s and 90s

Finished!
In my opinion, the most beautiful Opel Manta 400 I have ever seen on rallying.

Re: Canariolpa´s projects
Stunning work on the Manta and Peugeot, which makes me want to ask if you have any progress to show us on this one yet, Marcos?...

Hi David!
Unfortunately my holidays are over and now I do not have much free time for my miniatures
Here I leave a picture of the latest progress

Re: Canariolpa´s projects
No problem, Marcos - I know exactly what you mean though!
Looking good so far, and I'm sure the finished model will be to your usual high standard!

Re: Canariolpa´s projects
That looks superb, Marcos - well done!canariolpa wrote:Decals placed.
I'm amazed you made all that effort to mask off and spray the blue, gold and red when a Racing / Rothmans car is already available from IXO, which you could have used as a base model. I guess your standards are very high therefore, and only a hand painted model of your own will meet those standards!
Re: Canariolpa´s projects
Thank you David.
Yes, I know a Racing / Rothmans car is already available from IXO and it was my first option adding only the necessary decals.
But when I started to delete the "RACING" white logos the blue paint background also damage. , so I decided to start the model "from cero". That not was a problem for me because I enjoy masking and painting my models. Make rally cars for my collection it's my way to relax

...and the results speak for themselves, Marcos! Definitely the right decision in my mind, and one that will give you much more satisfaction when viewing the finished model in your collection!canariolpa wrote:Thank you David.

I cannot to wait to see the finished example.

Re: Canariolpa´s projects
Great progress Marcos, that looks brilliant! I do like a model maker who paints the inside of the cars black, as it gives a much more realistic appearance of a dark interior to a model.canariolpa wrote:
One comment though, if you want it to look even more accurate, simply cut off the front part of the rollcage. The Metro 6R4 didn't have any cage visible around the windscreen as it is contained within the pillars themselves. This has always been an error on the diecast models going right back to the very first Vitesse & Skid releases.
Here's an example of what a real Metro 6R4 looks like around the windscreen area. Note how clear it is around the front pillars...
This is the same for McRae's 1986 Corte Ingles entry as well...
